Why doesn't my kiln reach temperature ?
The elements might be worn out, if so replace them.
There might be a broken element in the kiln.
Your elements might be the wrong voltage (240V elements with a 208V supply).
Your relays might be faulty.
Electrical failure in another area of your kiln.
The lid prop is still in place.
 
Why does my kiln get too hot ?
Electrical failure in another area of your kiln.
Your relays might be faulty.
Thermocouple is broken or is not properly connected.
You have the wrong cone in the kiln sitter.
Something is preventing the sensing rod from falling e.g. ware in your kiln, material stuck on rod etc.
Sensing rod is too worn and needs to be replaced.
 
Do I have to replace my connectors when I replace my elements ?
You don't have to, but it is strongly recommended since bad connectors could ruin your new elements, and their cost is minimal.
